One of the things I had hoped to do this somewhere was slowly read through the wisdom and poetry books of the Bible. I was able to make my way through Job and a chunk of the Psalms but then the month of immersive rereading in 1 Peter happened. Now I’m here on the 1 October with a failed attempt at a relatively easy reading plan on my hands.
Thankfully, hope is not lost, and I have still spent a good amount of time in the Word this year, it’s just been much more 1 Peter focused than I had originally planned.
With the start of the last quarter of 20241, I started a new reading plan. Rather than try to catch up on the Psalms and Proverbs, a project that would have ended up being rushed and unenjoyable, I am reading through the New Testament alongside The Bible Recap. I don’t know a lot about the team or the group, but it was a recommended plan in Dwell and I like to be able to test out resources to potentially recommend to my congregation.
If you find yourself today in the same position as me, don’t feel bad about your Bible reading plan. Why not try taking the month of October to read one Bible book over and over again? Pick a short one. Pick 1 Peter, even! It’s definitely my favourite book right now.
